Years of fighting have weakened South Sudan’s freedom of expression.
At least 10 journalists were killed; from 2014 to 217, in South Sudan, according to Reporters Without Borders. The country’s world Press Freedom Index rankings of 2019 climbed by 5 places – from 144 in 2018 to 139. However, this is just a general view.
