Rwanda lebel spokesperson Calixte "Sankara" Nsabimana presented to media
Callixte 'Sankara' Nsabimana was this morning appeared in public for the first time since he was captured in Comoros on 13 April. He was presented to both local and international media at Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) headquarters in Kigali.
Around 9:00 AM; all eyes, cameras and microphones were on the door as more than one hundred local and international journalists waiting for the official parading of Callixte Nsabimana commonly known as Sankara at RIB headquarters in Kimihurura.
Nsabimana entered the room flanked by two policemen and his lawyer, Moise Nkundabarashi
Sankara did not address the press; instead, his lawyer did.
Moise Nkundabarashi,Sankara’s lawyer who was a classmate of self-proclaimed Major Sankara told the press that his client is in good health and he has access to medical care if he requests it. “I can tell you that his detention is in line with all the requirements of the law.” He says
The Rwanda investigation Bureau(RIB) spokesperson Mbabazi Modeste, while bringing Sankara before the media, said that the suspect’s dossier will be sent to prosecution latest today.
The Rwanda prosecution through their twitter statement confirmed the reception of Sankara’s dossier from RIB.
The National Public Prosecution Authority (NPPA) has received from Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), the case of Nsabimana Callixte alias Sankara, wanted by NPPA. @JusticeSectorRw @RIB_Rw
Prosecutors will interrogate him and take him to court for pre-trial examination hearing within the time prescribed by the law. @JusticeSectorRw
